  • Metro Series completed and installed at the new AC HOTEL in DUBLIN

Orewiler just completed his largest commission of his career. Twenty 2 ft x 4 ft mixed media Metro panels in the collection of AC HOTELS in Dublin, Ohio. This collection exhibits 7 pieces total. The largest being an 8 panel Metro displayed on the first floor lobby near the bar. This is the largest handmade Metro by Orewiler. "I'm thankful for the opportunity to show my talent in a large scale format and collection. This series was made within 7 months and was my only focus during those months. Thanks to those who believed in me and my work to make this possible. I look forward to working on more collections in this scale inside and outside of Ohio." Orewiler

  • Orewiler creates his first street mural 12ft x 40ft

Throughout his career, Orewiler has admired public art and street art. He has traveled throughout the world and has seen various street art and graffiti art that has influenced him. He has been searching for a wall to try his first piece. Finally he was offered a wall in the neighborhood he was raised. His first piece is a 10 foot x 30 foot mural using only spray paint. This piece pushed him to another area in his career as an artist. "Sometimes you have to find the opportunity and resources to create your vision and show others you are able to do large scale murals and other styles of art. I dont believe in limiting your talent and being comfortable with one area. Sure I can paint cityscapes and figurative well! I call it "technical art" and "paint by number". I want to develop into an artist that can do anything my mind envisions. Why limit yourself? This work will transfer into future series" Orewiler Location will be announced once the mural is completed.

Art for Life 2016 donation Get your tickets for Art for Life here http://artforlife.arcohio.org/ Link to Orewiler's page on Art for Life website http://artforlife.arcohio.org/artists/ryan-orwiler/ “METRO ZAG 39” 22″D Mixed Media Value: $1200 silent auction “Over the past few years, I’ve been infusing my abstract and representational work. METRO ZAG 39 is one of the first works in this new collection. I’ve combined the graphic urban scenes (and writing) from the 39’53N 83’00W collection and the contemporary METRO series. The Metro series simulates the structure of the urban influence translated into a minimal approach. The 39’53N 83’00W collection depicts Columbus scenes and historical landmarks. Originally, I decided to name the title of the series 39’53N 83’00W for the longitude and latitude of Columbus, Ohio. I researched online for each cities coordinates and found that 39’53N 83’00W represented Columbus. I assumed that the coordinate would represent the center of each city (Broad and High). I later found out that the actual coordinate is the Columbus Museum of Art which (unintentionally) is also a selected silkscreen in the 39'58N 83'00W collection.” ABOUT ART FOR LIFE ART FOR LIFE is the longest running, biennial fundraising gala benefiting Equitas Health (AIDS Resource Center Ohio [ARC Ohio]). This year we have joined forces with the Pizzuti Collection and the Columbus Museum of Art to create broader visibility of featured artists, as well as provide access to regional and national art collectors. Beginning in 1989, Art for Life was created by local artists and donors who believed there was a need for an event of this caliber to raise awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS services in our community. The first Art for Life was held August 5, 1989 at the Battleship Building in the Short North with 58 artists participating and 115 pieces to be auctioned, including famous memorabilia. The event, currently the largest charity art auction in central Ohio and among the largest in the Midwest, includes a live and a silent auction. Over the past 27 years, Art for Life has raised nearly $2.5 million, with the 2014 event raising $514,000. Primarily benefiting Equitas Health, this year a portion of the art sales will support the Pizzuti Collection’s community based educational programs. Art for Life enables Equitas Health to continue providing comprehensive medical care, pharmacy services, case management, housing, HIV/AIDS testing and counseling, prevention education, linkage to care and advocacy statewide. The 2016 Art for Life event will take place September 24, 2016 at the newly opened Margaret M. Walter Wing of the Columbus Museum of Art. This will be the inaugural Art for Life in the 50,000-square-foot modern art annex.
